There are several simple mistakes that every person looking to build a network should avoid making. The first of which is talking about yourself too much. When you meet someone new at a networking event, make sure that you don’t fall into the habit to talking about yourself the whole time. The reason this is important is because you are trying to inspire them to want to help you, which is most easily accomplished by demonstrating your interest in helping them.
